A field guide to the CrazyGames build
Four screens and three booths
The diner is not one room on screen; it is four frames you step between with the edge arrows. This page is the layout, the seats, and what the client says when you try to sit where someone already is.
The four screens
Walking the room takes four stops. The edge arrows move you one stop; there is no scroll and no map.
| order | what is on this screen | who is there |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | the counter, Maggie behind it, a cup and a small card on top | Maggie |
| 2 | the counter's end, a side table with the radio, the near edge of a booth | Maggie, one guest partly in frame |
| 3 | a table with two facing seats, the radio table behind it, a wall television | Edith and Ethan |
| 4 | a narrower table with two seats, a blue window panel | Juan and one unnamed guest |
The story's first goal, Goal: Find an empty seat, prints on screen 1 and then
disappears. We have not yet been given a seat on any of the four.
Two seats, two refusals
Both occupied booths answer when clicked. The replies are short and they are not the same sentence.
| booth | who answers | the line |
|---|---|---|
| screen 3, Edith's booth | Edith | “Oh, sorry this booth's taken.” |
| screen 4, Juan's booth | Juan | “This booth's taken.” |
Juan says more than that before he says it. Clicking him cold gets “What are you looking at?”, and answering “Just looking for a seat.” gets “Ain't you seen the news? These ain't friendly times.”
What the layout implies
The room is wider than the window, and every screen keeps Maggie's counter visible at least in part. That is why the music note sits on screen 2: the radio is on the side table there, between the counter and the first booth, and its close-up can be opened from either screen 1 or 2.
The two booth tables are drawn identically — same table, same two facing seats, same red upholstery. The difference is who is sitting in them, and the fourth screen is the only one with a window panel behind the seats.
Not tested
- Whether a seat ever opens on screen 1 or 2; we clicked the floor and the counter front on both with no response.
- Whether the empty seat is a stool we cannot see rather than a booth.
- What the unnamed guest on screen 4 says, if anything.
- Whether refusing Edith or Juan changes what either of them says later.
