A field guide to the CrazyGames build
Where the sentences come from
Four kinds of source feed this site, and they are not equal. Here is the ranking we use, with what each one can and cannot prove.
1. The client (highest rank)
A frame captured on this machine, dated on the plate caption. This is the only source that can settle what the build actually prints, where a thing sits on screen, and what happens when you click it.
Every page on this site carries at least one. Examples: the goal line on how a run works, the dial on the radio page, the three name plates on the people page.
2. The developer's own pages
Maxim Tsai's pages describe eight endings and one song on one frequency. Those are the developer's claims about their own game, which is a good source — but it is still a claim about the build rather than a frame from it. Where a page here rests on it, the sentence says "the developer's guide lists" rather than "there are".
The developer's itch page also carries an ending guide. We have read it; we have not reproduced it, because a guide that copies another guide has no receipts.
3. The CrazyGames portal card
Rating, votes, release date, engine, platform, orientation and tag counts. All of
it is metadata about the game, not the game. The card is what told us the build
is HTML5 and when it was last updated, and it is the only place we take numbers
like 8.8 and 100,584 from.
One caveat: the card's Last Updated field has changed on other sites we keep,
so it is quoted with the date we read it.
4. Community guides and videos (used only to find questions)
Other people's walkthroughs are useful for one thing: learning what to test. If three guides mention a shed behind the diner, we go and look for a shed. We do not quote their conclusions, and we do not link to them as sources, because the next paragraph is the reason.
What is not a source here
- AI summaries of the game. They paraphrase each other and invent numbers.
- Fandom wikis for a different game. A wiki page for a game with a similar name proves nothing about this build.
- Our own memory. If this site cannot show a frame, the sentence does not go in — that rule exists because memory is the easiest thing to be wrong about and the hardest thing for a reader to check.
Corrections
If a page here is wrong, the fix is a screenshot. Send it to [email protected] and the page is rewritten, with the plate date advanced to the day of the fix.
