A field guide to the CrazyGames build
What one ending changes on the title screen
Nothing on the title screen hinted at achievements until an ending had been reached. After Ending
Before and after
We took the title screen twice: once on a fresh profile with no ending reached, and once
immediately after REPLAY from Ending #1.
| element | before any ending | after Ending #1 |
|---|---|---|
the ACHIEVEMENTS tab | plain grey tab, no mark | the same tab with a star to the right of the word |
| right of the truck | empty sky | two framed cards: the top one holds a ?, the bottom one a green-capped stick figure |
| clicking the tab | nothing we could see | a band of silhouettes slides across the top of the scene |
The two framed cards are the clearest of the three. The lower card is a picture of the same trucker who drives the opening; the upper card is a question mark, which reads as an empty slot rather than a locked one.
The band
Clicking ACHIEVEMENTS draws a horizontal strip of black shapes across the sky behind
the truck: a head, a few small dots, what look like bushes or trees, and one upright
figure. Only the plate shows it; the strip does not carry text, numbers, or a list.
We are not going to call this strip “the achievement list.” It appears at the same moment as the star, it is the only thing the tab does, and it is drawn over the title screen's own art — but nothing on it is labelled, and one silhouette is not obviously an ending picture.
Not tested
- What the star counts: endings, achievements, or something else.
- Whether the
?card fills in with a second ending, and what it would show. - Whether the band grows longer with more endings.
- Whether any of this survives a page reload, since achievements may be stored in the browser rather than in an account. We only reloaded once and the star was still there, which is not enough to say.
