DINER IN THE STORMFIELD GUIDE

A field guide to the CrazyGames build

Maggie

The waitress, the first voice in the game, and the person who decides whether the night happens at all.

Who she is

The diner's waitress, drawn with a cap and an apron, standing behind the counter for everything we have seen of the first act. She is the first person to speak, and the only one who talks to you without being asked.

What she says

Her opening line, word for word:

“Come on in honey, and close the door behind you. Lord knows the rain ain't gonna let you get any further tonight.”

Later, on the same screen:

“Grab a seat and I'll bring a coffee and menu right over.”

“Honey, just grab a seat. I'll be right with you.”

And when you offer to help her:

“Oh honey, that's sweet. I'll take care of it.”

She also explains why the diner is empty:

“My line cook had to call out and my… well it's just me tonight.”

What that tells you about the night

Two facts sit in those lines and nowhere else in the interface:

  1. You are a stranger who came in out of the rain. Nobody introduces you and nobody asks your name; the label on your own lines is just You.
  2. The diner is short-staffed. The line cook is out. That is stated by the character, before any menu or objective mentions work.
