A field guide to the CrazyGames build
Juan
The angry man at the far table. Four lines, one refusal, and the first hint that the night is not just weather.
The exchange, whole
This is the only conversation in the build so far where both sides are printed, and it is short enough to quote in full:
| speaker | line |
|---|---|
| Juan | “What are you looking at?” |
| You | “Just looking for a seat.” |
| Juan | “This booth's taken.” |
| Juan | “Ain't you seen the news? These ain't friendly times.” |
Then the box closes and the room is yours again. There is no follow-up prompt, no objective update, and the booth stays empty for the rest of the session.
What the scene is doing
Three things happen in four lines, and none of them is stated by a menu:
- The player is told to find a seat, and the first seat they try is refused.
- Juan is established as hostile, and the art does it without a word: he is the only figure in the diner drawn with eyebrows.
- The world outside is established as dangerous. "Ain't you seen the news" is the first mention of anything beyond the rain, and it comes from a character rather than from the story.
What we have not learned
- whether Juan is the "Juan" in the developer's endings list, or whether his name is a coincidence — we have not reached an ending
- what the news is; nothing in the room we have seen shows a newspaper, a radio bulletin or a television broadcast about it
- whether the booth becomes available if you talk to him twice, or later in the night
- whether refusing to sit anywhere changes his dialogue
Those four stay open on purpose. A page about a four-line character is only worth writing because the four lines carry the premise.
