Ending #1: All Alone

The route

Two clicks, from the diner floor:

1. Walk right until the EXIT door is on screen. It sits past Juan's booth, on the right-hand wall.
2. Click the door. The client asks, in a box above the dialogue line: Yes / Stay in the Diner, with the line "No reason to go back to my rig right now. Leave anyways?" underneath.
3. Click Yes. It asks once more — Yes / Nevermind, with "Are you sure?" — and only the second Yes ends the run.

Nothing else is required. We had spoken to Maggie, to Edith and to Juan first, and the ending was still #1: the game does not count conversations you have had, only whether you have left.

What it prints

The screen is black with rain still falling behind the text. Five lines, then the number and the name:

You exit the diner. Alone.

You don't have any particular destination so you head towards the nearest city.

The storm makes it difficult to find your way and the road signs are illegible.

It is not long before you are hopelessly lost.

You head out alone into the dark and are never heard from again.

Then THE END, Ending #1: All Alone, and a single REPLAY button.

Two details worth having on a page rather than in a guide's memory: the number is part of the client's own text, so endings are numbered in the build itself; and the two witnesses in the dark at the bottom left of the screen are shapes only — we have not identified them and will not claim to.

Not tested

• Whether the same ending comes from any other exit route; the door we used is the only one we found.
• Whether refusing all three guests first changes the text. Our run had three conversations behind it and the text did not mention them.
• What REPLAY does beyond starting a new run; we did not press it.
• Whether the ending list in the game records which endings you have seen.
